PACT – Ellis County Coalition for the Prevention of Child Abuse
Kids don’t come with instructions. All parents can benefit from a parent education class!
PACT: Parents and Children Together is a committee of the Ellis County Coalition for the Prevention of Child Abuse.
PACT was initially formed in 1979 with a grant received from the Children’s Trust Fund through Kansas Social and Rehabilitation Services. Today, PACT is funded with a grant from the United Way of Ellis County.
PACT is a volunteer group representing various service agencies in Ellis County, who work together to provide educational opportunities for parents, families and community members in an effort to improve the lives of children and reduce the occurrence of child abuse and neglect.
PACT meets the last Thursday of every month from 8:30 to 10:00 am at the Rockwell Administration Center (323 W. 12th in Hays).
The PACT group sponsors The Ten Steps to Positive Discipline class. Parents learn how to take everyday situations and turn them into valuable learning moments in teaching children of all ages more about impulse control, conflict resolution, social skills and character development. This class concentrates on positive communication and revolutionary discipline techniques based on the popular teachings of Dr. Becky Bailey. Ph.D.
